About The Hero

Name: Shelagh Brennand
Profession: Author, Motivational Speaker & Stroke Safe Ambassador
Bio: Post stroke, I discovered my brain had changed. It seemed to function well in rhyme and most of my thoughts could not be processed unless the end of each sentence rhymed. I began to write down my thoughts and emotions in the form of poetry and soon learnt these feelings were not just experienced by me, but are shared by many stroke survivors. It was refreshing and comforting to know that I was never alone during my recovery.

What a beautiful story about hope. Going through the motions of struggles and seeing what you CAN do and not what you CAN’T do. I really related to this film. What a lovely lady.

  2. What a nice story. I had a stroke 15 months ago, it changed my life completely. I get by by listening to other people’s experiences and how well they’ve done. I wish you the very best, take care and may god bless you. Kenny
