Inequity and inaccessibility affect our youngest and most at-risk disproportionately.
Indigenous and disadvantaged children are falling further behind academically as the digital divide widens and lockdowns close schools around Australia.
By connecting remote communities to qualified tutors and teachers, we can enable
societal and generational impact through individual personalised connection.
We aim to bring about systemic changes in equity, using the internet and technology to ensure our most disadvantaged young can access appropriate education, preparing them and providing opportunities for a positive future.

Need a Tutor utilises cutting-edge digital technology to bring high-quality educational enrichment to learners in regional and remote locations. Tutors are culturally sensitive and work at the learner’s pace bridging gaps in literacy and numeracy.

As a former high school teacher I know all too well how important education is for young people’s confidence and future trajectory. This project is not only impressive but inspirational as it ensures that young people who would otherwise fall through the cracks have connection to a safety net of support so that they can thrive. I see so many incredible stories that need to be told here and what an incredible opportunity to shine the light on a wonderful organisation.

Despite what we may feel from time to time in the depths of a pandemic, the world is full of wonderful folks who genuinely care about those in less advantaged situations. Giving access to indigenous youth to benefit from internet based tutoring is a classic example, and Need-A-Tutor deserves every accolade.

Every child needs an opportunity to find their own learning strategies. Tutors work with students to identify their skills and knowledge which will enable them to be able to connect with the learning experience.

As a nurse, I have witnessed first hand the health disparities faced by indigenous persons. Education is key to bridging this gap, and more accessible services need to be targeted towards this population. Creating platforms that will enable engagement, empowers people to make their own informed choices, not just in a healthcare setting! Fantastic initiative and I look forward to hearing more about it.

Delivering education to remote areas could have the same impact. I would love to see this achieved.
